THE MOTOR BIKE NUISANCE.

At last night’s Borough Council meeting Cr. Ross lodged a. complaint against motor cyclists being permitted to ride their bikes through the main thoroughfare with open exhausts. This nuisance was particularly noticeable at nights and was very disconcerting particularly on Sunday evenings when Church was in progress, and should be put a stop to. The new motor regulations prohibited the riding of noisy cycles. Cr. Cowley endorsed Cr. Ross’s remarks. Cr. Parkin complained about the reckless speed which a certain paper runner travelled through the borough daily. Ci*. Rand said that certain riders were in the habit of racing along Union Street of nights. This should also be stopped before a serious accident occurred. Both matters were referred to the traffic inspector for attention.
