SOCCER CLUB GRANTED USE OF EASTON PARK.
At last night’s Borough Council meeting the Foxton Association Club made application for the use of Eastoii Park for the ensuing season. Cr. Parkin said he was in favour of the Club’s request beisg acceded v „ to, but this year he thought the players should be made to use the gate instead of crawling through the fences. Last year he had reprimanded players for this and had been told “to go to the devil!” The Mayor said he would like to see the park made more use of by sports bodies. Cr. Cowley: It will be if' it is put in order. The Mayor: That is usually done by the sports bodies. • Cr. Cowley said that local bodies did the work as a rule and made a charge for the use of the ground accordingly. It was decided that the Association Club be granted the use of Easton Park for the coming season at a rental of 10 per cent, of gross takings with a minimum of 10/- per day. That the attention of the Club and supporters be drawn to the fact that the gates must be used when entering the park and that climbing the fences will lead 1 to a withdrawal of the privilege.
