INFANTILE PARALYSIS.

CASES REPORTED IN CANTERBURY. Christchurch, Last Night. A few cases of infantile paralysis have been reported in Canterbury. Five cases mere reported last week and the sixth yesterday, but so far only oue has been definitely diagnosed as positive. - The general opinion among medical men is that there is no cause for alarm. An epidemic is regarded as unlikely, although it is admitted that six cases in a week is unusual.. Happily, it is considered too late in the season for an outbreak to assume serious proportions. One private school in the city has 1 been closed owing to a case occurring there, but it has since been re-opened.
