“MY TURN NEXT”.

TOWN HALL .- - TO-NIGHT

The public will be afforded an opportunity to see.local amateurs in the mirth-provoking farce “My Turn Next,” in the Town Hall tonight. The company has been rehearsing assiduously for some time past and those who have witnessed the final practices speak highly of the capabilities of the performers, and the audience is promised a real happy time. The first portion of the programme, fas set outtelsewhere, is in itself worth the price of admission. The funds are in aid of the local branch of the Plunket Society, and the prices of admission are 2/1 and 1/-. ' The Wanganui Education Board, acting under advice from the senior inspector and medical officer circularised schools giving permission to committees to curtail school hours during the continuous hot weather. A few schools have taken advantage of the suggestion. Other teachers,,however, hold the opinion that where ventilation and shade is ample there is no necessity to curtail the hours as the, children are better in school than roaming the streets, and during tlm heat they are permitted to take things easy. The latter course has been followed at the local school. Children, however, are warned to keep their hats on in the sun.
