MOUTOA.
ENJOYABLE BIRTHDAY PARTY.
A most pleasant enjoyable evening was given by Mr. and Mrs. Lampp, in the Moutoa Hall last night, on the occasion of the 21st birthday of their daughter, , Miss Carri Lampp. The hall was tastefully decorated, and the night was spent in dancing and. songs. A large gathering of local people augmented by many visitors from other districts, gathered to do honour to the guest of the evening. Messrs Newton and Graham supplied the music for the dances, which were interspersed by various items. Miss Connor and Mr. Glasgow gave a splendid display of Scotch dancing, and a song by Mrs. S. Barber was excellently rendered, both items being well received. During the interval a most tasty supper was delightfully served, and after this a huge birthday cake illuminated with the requisite number of candles, was presented to Miss Lampp, which was &ut, and distributed amongst the company. Mr. Fursden then took the opportunity of proposing the 'health of Miss Lampp, and in a few well chosen words wished her on behalf of all present every happiness, and “many happy returns of the day.” The toast was drunk with enthusiasm and the usual musical honours wrnre accorded her. Mr. D. Gilbert, on behalf of Miss Lampp, returned thanks to the guests for their congratulation and good wishes. Extra dance items were' then played by Miss Piggott and Miss Monk. For the remainder of the evening dancing was indulged in and two more dances were given by Mr. Glasgow, an Irish jig and the hornpipe, both items being of outstanding merit. Mr. A. L. Milner also rendered in his usual inimitable manner the monologue “Fashions,” which created much merriment.
