S.M. COURT.
MONTHLY SITTING.
The monthly sitting of the local S.M. Court was held in the Courthouse yesterday, before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M. FAILURE TO REGISTER DOGS. Four natives, Tiaki Kauri, S ara Hotirini, Tom Tuna and Winnie Rata were each charged by the Inspector for the Manawatu County Council (Mr. W. Berry), yith each possessing two dogs which failed to register. Each defendant was convicted and fined £1 with costs £l. CIVIL CASES. Judgment was given for plaintiff in the following civil undefended cases: — A Steer v. R. Goodall, claim £4 7s 4d, costs £1 3s fid; J. S. Moir, (Assignee for J. W. Madden) v. Huia. Rangi, £1 13s 3d, costs 10/-; same v. S. Robinson, £2 2s 2d, costs' £1 19s fid; Nurse A .E. Collins v..^^ 1 ’ 8 ' Pahi Alidone, £1 10s Od, costs 10/-; same v. A. Albrey £lO, costs £2 0s 6d; same i. S. Robinson, £4 4s Od, costs £1 19s 6d. JUDGMENT SUMMONSES. Matiu Ruruku was ordered to pay A. E. Tongs £l4 16s 7d forthwith, in default 14 days’ imprisonment, warrant suspended as Long as defendant pays £2 per month, first payment 2nd March, 1928. J. O’Reilly was ordered to pay G. F. Smith £3 7s 0d forthwith, in default seven days’ hard labour.
