DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL.
COMMITTEE MEETING,
The ordinary meeting of the above school committee was held last night. Present were Messrs J. K. Hornblow (chairman), R. Rangiheuea (secretary), E. Cowley, A. Stevenson, H. Hutchins, 6. Huntley, M. E. Perreau and John Ross. Routine correspondence from the Education Board was read and received.
, The janitor, Mr F. Harris, tenderI ed his resignation to take effect as from the end of February. The resignation was received with regret, and the Chairman, Secretary and Headmaster were appointed to draw up a schedule of duties in connection with the work to be carried out and applications are to be called for the position. It was resolved to hold the annual school picnic on the Ashhnrst. Domain next month, and a committee was set up to arrange details. It was decided to ask the fire brigade to supervise the burning of the grass in the playground. The Chairman and Mr Perreau were appointed visitors for the month. It was decided to hold a special meeting on Monday next.
