Early on Friday evening, a, burglar entered the residence of Mr. C. A. Weir, an orchardist residing in Kairanga road, Palmeston North, and ransaekel the house. A quantity of jewellery, comprising valuable rings and bangles and a gold wristlet watch was removed. Clothing was also taken and the thief rad evidently searched the house for a pair of boots which would fit him, Mr. and Mrs. W*eir were absent at the time.
