PERSONAL.

At the Palmerstori North Citizens Lunch Club on Tuesday, the Rev. 'W. H. Walton, of Foxton, spoke on the life of Dr. Wilfred Grenfell,, a missionary to the Esquimaux. The appointment is announced by the Prime Minister, Right Honorable J. G. Coates, of Mr. P. G. Roussell to the position of general superintendent of transportation, Railway Department, in succession to the late Mr. A. K. Harris. The death has occurred of Mr. Donald McKenzie, Mangamahoe, Masterton, a resident of New Ze.n land for fifty years. Deceased, who was a native of Scotland, resided most of his life in Hawke’s Bay. He took a keen interest in 'Caledonian matters, was a strong supporter of collie Clubs, and was one of the foundation members of the Dannevirke A. and P. Association. He leaves a widow, one son, and four daughters.
