General. —The crushing machinery has been kept running mainly for the production of chips for the tar sealing work in the Bulls-San-son main highway. Owing to the low state of the river much better grade of stone for- crushing purposes has been obtained. About 900 yards of metal of various grades were crushed during the last month. The grader was kept constantly employed on the main highways, including Himatangi-Foxton, Whirokino, Sanson-Himatangi, Hima-tangi-Rangiotu, 'Sanson-Awahuri, and Feilding-Awahuri main highways. An old wooden culvert on the Feilding road has completely decayed away and it will be necessary to replace this culvert immediately with a 24-inch concrete pipe. Cost of culvert £27..
A sketch plan has been prepared showing the , amount of land required to produce 100,000 cubic yards of metal which will be required for the main highways. The cost of putting in a tram siding and other expenses will amount up to about £IOOO. —Received.
