Jan. 12. \esterday a fne mako shark weighing 4551 b was caught by LieutenantColonel Mellor, fishing from the Mercury Bay launch Dauntless after a splendid fight lasting an hour. RUSSELL, Jan. 12. Latest catches off Cape Brett are: Mr J. Hodgson, Auckland, mako, 2931 b, launch Mason B; Mr C. S. Adamson, Russell, swordfish, 2001b,' launch Reliance; Mr H. White Wickham, London, hammerhead shark. 2831 b launch Ozone. WHANGAROA. Jan. 12. A swordfish weighing 2051 b was landed by, Mr Stanley Ellis, of Hamilton, yesterday from the launch Eoelemin. The weather conditions are still very favourable for deep sea fishing.
