SALLY O’NEIL IN “BECKY.” ,

Teeming with the colour and thrills of city life, and with a .human element underlying it all, “Becky,” the new Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer picture showing at the Town Hall on Friday takes you right into the heart of a little shop girl who is transformed, into a revue favourite. Her trials and escapades pulsate with life itself; and laughs, heart-throbs, tears and thrills chase each other in swiftly moving sequences. Flaying opposite Miss O’Neil, is that sterling actor, Owen Moore. He plays the role of “Dan Scarlett,” a “man about town,” who is regenerated by bis love for “Becky.” The part has plenty of scope for the whimsical humour of this player which he combines with some splendid emotional acting. Also “Inventor”, (comedy), Gazette and Scenic.: Usual prices. Visitors to the Town Hall next Saturday are requested to watch carefully the big scene in “The Overland Limited,” the new Master Picture, when the speeding locomotive rushes oh the bridge and then crashes through into the river below. This has been acclaimed by film experts as being the most realistic “shot” of its kind ever made for the screen. Just bow and when it was made is a trade secret but once in a lifetime. Usual prices.
