MR. MACE’S MISSION

FINAL ADDRESS TO-MORROW NIGHT.

There was another large attendance at the mission conducted by Mr. Mace in the Town Hall supperroom on Thursday evening. A stirring discourse was given from the text “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God hath made that same Jesus whom ye have crucified both Lord and Christ”—Acts 2/36. “From a purely 'human standpoint the crucifletibn of Israel’s Messiah, by his own people, was the greatest disV aster and tragedy in all history,” said-the speaker. “Yet in the surpassing wisdom of God he has made very calamity not only a basis for the blessing of mankind in general, but also for those who were the instruments of it. This is the significance of Jesus being made Lord. It is Joseph’s history repeatedl spiritually—sold by his .brethren, slandered, persecuted and imprisoned He became both the Saviour of his own kindred and the Egyptians. Pharoali made Him Lord of his house and ruler of all His substance (Ps, 105/21). “Go to Joseph,” was his command when they cried to Him for bread! The crucified Nazarene has become now in heaven the dVine administrator of all the beneficence that the heart of God has to bestow through the work of the. cross. The tables have been turned on the enemy, apparent defeat is changed to eternal victory—peace with God; deliverance from sin’s captivity, love from which nothing can separate and infinitely more beside, are all made good through our Lord

Jesus Christ. We must, however, accept the changed conditions and own that the ‘Jesus’ of the malefactors gibbet is now the enthroned ‘Lord’ at the right hand of God. If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead thou shalt be saved'.” —Romans X-9..

Mr. Mace will deliver his final address to-morrow (Sunday) evening, to which a welcome is extended to all.
