HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

The sub-committee appointed to draw up a schedule for the Autumn Show met and recommended the Society to hold the show about the first week in March, the date to be fixed by the next general committee meeting. Special attention is drawn to the classes in dahlias, and eut .flowers, while the growers of vegetable and fruit are well catered for. The home industries class has been slightly enlarged, while the decorative section remains similar to the summer show. A number of trophies and points prizes have already been promised, and it is hoped the public will continue to de—■s\ monstrate their interest in the town’s progress by exhibiting at the show and providing financial support.
