A DOG IN THE CAR
■CAUSES MOTOR FATALITY. Christchurch, (December 13. A tragic motor-car smash occurred on the road from Sockburn on Monday evening at 6.30, when a small boy, aged 61 years, named Bruce parser Kellar, suffered injuries to his face. He died later in the evening at the Christchurch Hospital. Deceased was the only son of Mr and Mrs. George Kellar, of 100 Riccarton Road, his father being a City Council traffic inspector. He was driving with his mother along the main South Road when a dog wheh was in the car sprang on to 'the steering wheel. Mrs. Kellar momentarily lost control, and the cai crashed into the fence. The boy was thrown through the windscreen, his face being gashed open. He was taken to the hospital and operated on, but failed to come out of the anaesthetic. Mrs. Kellar was not injured, but is suffering from shock. The inquest on the boy was opened and adjourned.
