TRIANGULAR SHIELD CONTEST Yesterday afternoon t'he second round of the Triangular Shield contest was played on Foxton green. A squally wind made play difficult and somewhat unpleasant/ and heavy rain the previous night tended to, make the green play hard. Levin maintained the lead they gained in the first round over both Shannon and Foxton, and lpok as though they can not help winning the Shield this season. The details of yesterday’s play are as follows : Levin: Walker, Py-ke, Elements, Brown (s) 33 v. Robinson, Easton, McCo'll, Thomson (s) 16. Levin: Monks, Sherwood, Bull, Suhan (s) 25 v. Whibley, Walkei-, Barr, Nye (s) 17. f Shannon: Moynihan, Grey Clayton, Knowles (s) 28 v. Parkin, Newth, Huntley, Bryant? (s) 11. Shannon: Shannon, Aim, iSfason, Butt (s) 24 v. Mattar, Walton, Heyes, Woods (s) 20. The aggregates for the two rounds so far played are as follows: —Levin 160 points, Shannon 81 points, Foxton 91 points. ; The averages are as follows: — Levin, 6 games, 26 2-3 points per game; Shannon, 4- games, 201 points; Foxton, 6 games, 15 l t 6 points. It will thus be seen that Levin has a substantial lead over both other Clubs, with one round only to play —at Shannon on Wednesday next. }
