TENNIS NOTES

A general committee meeting was held on Tuesday night, the following being present: Mrs. McMurray, Mrs. Hay, Messrs Thle, W. Ross, R. McMurray, Newton, and the secretary (0. Procter). The following new members were elected: —-Misses N. Pritchard, Ashby, N. Spring, Z. Easton, A. Ske'llon, M. Bain, M. Bree, G. Ney!on, Mesdames C. Edwards, Good man, Garbett, Messrs 11. Hughes, J. Barber.

A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the Bowling Club for the use of the pavilion.

.TC'Was decided that the member’s notice be drawn to the fact that subscriptions must bo paid’this month, otherwise there will be no rebate. It was decided to bold a dance in the Masonic Ha’ll on Saturday night, Messrs J. Newton and W. Ross being appointed organisers. A match will be played at the local courts on Saturday against the Shannon Club. The team will be picked from the following :Mesdames McMurray, Ball, Eruera, Misses Stevenson, Thompson, Denion, C. Walsh, K. Roore, Messrs Bryant, Procter, W. Ross, N. Ross, W. Roach, R. McMurray, J. Newton, I lvle. ' Members are asked to be at the courts at 1.30 pan. sharp. Lady members are asked to assist with the afternoon tea.

As Shannon have some very good exponents of the game,, some good play is looked for. Junior players and beginners would be well advised to l)e present, as watching good players in action is one of the best ways to improve one’s game. A “working bob” will be held at the courts on Friday night to prepare. the courts for Saturday. Men members are earnestly requested to turn out in force.

Members are again reminded to play their Rose Bowl and ,Club matches.
