FATAL ACCIDENT.
SHANNON FARMER LOSES HTS LIFE. •A fatal accident occurred near Shannon shortly after mid-day yesterday as a result of which a farmer named George Warren Satherley, 45 years of age, married with four children,, lost his life. Deceased and another man named Bain hal been into Shannon, and were returning home in a spring dray loaded with wire, timber, and other material. They were 'descending- a small hill on the Marinoto road when, according to Bain, the dray began to rock as he thought, from the load they were carrying. The next thing he realized was that they had rolled over the 18-foot bank and were underneath the upturned cart. •Bain managed to extricate himself but was unable to assist Satherley. He immediately sought the assistance of neighbours, who righted the vehicle. Satherley was found unconscious and hurriedly taken into Levin but life proved extinct as a result of a broken neck. Deceased was well-known in Foxlon where he was born and resided for many years and is a. son of Mrs* Satherley senr. The interment will take place at the Foxton Cemetery to-morrow afternoon.
