PERSONAL.
'Mr. W. E. Bullard left for a h.o!irfay in Rotorua yesterday. Mr. D. Munro, of Auckland, is at present spending a holiday in Foxlon. The following have been appointed honorary child welfare officers: —Messrs E. R. Bean (New Plymouth), R. Rangiheuea (Foxton), D. S. L. Keay (Woodville), and Mesdames M. A. Parfitt (Picton) and E. Stewart (Motueka). The death occurred on Wednesday night at Reefton of Mr. Richard Wills, head of the firm of Messrs J. Wills and Co., merchants. The late Mr. Wills, who was a brother of Mr. W. H. Nicholas, of Foxton, was a prominent Reefton citizen and mining investor. Mr. H. Witchell, manager of the Otaki branch of the Bank of New Zealand, who has retired after 41 years’ service on the staff of the Bank, was entertained on Wednesday night and presented with a substantial cheque, by the residents of Otaki. The function was largely attended and Mr. Witchell was congratulated on his long service and the good wishes of the gathering extended to both him and Mrs. Witchell.
