ENTERTAINMENT EXTRAORDINARY.
STROLLING MINSTREL TROUP.
The local Returned Soldiers’ Committee have arranged a novel entertainment, in connection with their shop day next Saturday. The best local and district talent has been secured to participate in an entertainment. The minstrel troup will consist of ladies and gently men, who will appear in fancy costumes and masked. Two lorries will accommodate the performers who will therefore be able to repeat the programme in different parts of the town. The programme will consist of choruses, items by a quartette party, funnyisms, by real funny men, local hits and orchestral items. The orchestra will not be of the burlesque order, but will consist of genuine selections by skilled musicians. The outfit will be the most original and entertaining effort yet attempted locally. That- it will attract crowds goes without saying. The minstrels 'will perform both in the afternoon and evening. The object of the entertainment is to provide funds to give the children of returned soldiers a right royal Christmas party. The affair is being organised with that enthusiasm which characterises the local committee and those assisting have readily given their services. The minstrels will not only entertain but the quality of the entertainment will astonish the public, who are in for a real musical treat.
