Near Ongarue, Taumarunui, on Saturday a ear containing four adults and three children, driven by Mr. J. Jones went over a bank into the river. The car was badly damaged, but the occupants, though injured, miraculously escaped death. Mr. Jones and Mr. N. Christianson and one of the children were rendered unconscious tempoi’arily, but recovered later. Two of the children suffered painful',body injuries. Mrs. Christianson sustained a sprained ankle and bruises.
