DAYLIGHT SAVING.

SOME LOCAL EXPERIENCES. Daylight saving is proving to be a nuisance, that is in connection with obtaining a quorum at Bleedings. At one meeting held locally last night the secretary had to get into telephone communication with the bowling green to remind a member that the meeting could not proceed until he put in an appearance. Judging by the remarks passed by members during the considerable lapse of time after the notified hour of the meeting until a quorum was assembled, daylight saving was proving very popular locally. Farmers present even admitted that “it wasn’t so bad” while others said that they did not notice rising an hour earlier, but certainly appreciated an extra hour in the evening. One member said that he had encountered some farmers who absolutely refused to put their clocks on. One morning he had an appointment with a district farmer for 8 o’clock and duly presented himself at 8 o’clock “Sidey time.” The farmer looked at him and asked “what was wrong?” stating that it was only seven o’clock and consequently that member had to wait an hour until the farmer was ready, when he explained that Daylight Saving was no good to him as the factories weren’t observing it. The following morning he had to again call on the farmer, but this time arrived an hour later only to find himself an hour late because the farmer had advanced his clock. A few days later, having occasion to again visit him, he took no\chances and arrived on Sidey time —an ur too eax-ly. The fanner had putrhis clock back.
