TRIANGULAR SHIELD CONTEST. SELECTION OF RINKS. At a meeting of the Selection Committee held last evening, it was decided,, prior to the final selection of two rinkh to represent Foxton in the first round of the Triangular Shield contest at Levin on Wednesday next, to engage the following sixteen players in rinks play:— Mattar, Walton, Walker Heyes (s). Newth, Webb, Pearson, Thomson (s). Parkin, Heppner, Barr, Nye (s). Huntley, Hinds, Bryant, Woods (s). The players mentioned above are requested to be on the green prompt, so that play may be commenced at 2 sharp. MEETING OF CENTRE EXECUTIVE. The executive meeting of the Manawatu Bowling Centre was held at Palmerston North yesterday, under the chairmanship of Mr. J. A. Nash, M.'P. The business consisted mainly of routine matters connected with the Centre’s annual New Year tournament. ; The Dominion Bowling Association forwarded permission to hold the North Island championship tournament at Palmerston North, and it was decided to hold same in lieu of the annual Easter tournament, and at the same date, trophies to be three guineas, two guineas, and one guinea, for the first three rinks. A smoke concert will be held on the last evening of the tournament.

Notice was given that. Otaki Club had made application for transfer from Wellington Centre to Palmerston North Centre, and the transfer will be effective as soon as the Dominion Association’s foi-mal approval is granted. In the meantime Clubs in this Centre will be requested to visit the Otaki Club. It was announced that Mr. M. Suhan, of Levin, had been chosen as the Centre’s representative with the New Zealand bowlers to visit England. The chairman urged that the return visit to Auckland Clubs be arranged early, and the secretary was requested to write Clubs in the centre, asking for names of bowlers able to make the trip.
