BEACH IMPROVEMENT COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the Foxton Beach Improvement Committee, held in Palmerston North on Tuesday evening was presided over by Mr. C. H. Whitehead. Also preseut were Alessrs A. Blackbourn, F. Kirk, W. A. Petersen, F. N. Andrews, D. J. Lovelock, and A. Dawiclc (secretary). It was pointed out to the committee, which is anxious to have the beach, etc., in good oi*der for the coming holidays, that the tennis courtsi were in a state of disrepair and it was decided that contracts for regrading and asphalting of.these be let. The hall on the beach is in good condition and recently received two coats of paint. A number of inquiries for beach houses during the holiday season is being dealt with, these auguring well for the big sports gathering to be held on New Year’s Day.
