HORTICULTURAL SHOW.
TOWN HALL THURSDAY NEXT. - The local Horticultural Society’s Summer Show will take place in the Town Hall on Thursday next. The weather has not been favourable to the flowers recently, but it is hoped that the next few days will be fine and sunny, to make up for the inclemency. Inquiries from other districts indicate an interest in the Show, and it is hoped that circumstances will permit a large number of outside growers to exhibit. Local exhibitors are asked to be sure and exhibit, even if their blooms are not up to the usual standard, especially in the sweet pea section. In the decorative section any foliage may be used for the bowls and vases. This intimation was omitted from the schedule. For the convenience of patrons and exhibitors, Mrs Walls has arranged to provide refreshments, afternoon and evening, at the usual price. The men’s committee are requested to be at the Hall at 10 p.m. on Wednesday to fix up the tables and make other arrangements necessary. Two points prizes of 10s Gd each have been added to both cookery sections.
