FOXTON SWIMMING CLUB

■ » ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Foxton Swimming Club, held in Walls’ Rooms last night, was largely attended. The meeting was presided over by Mr. H. Hutchins (President) . The annual report and balancesheet showed that G. Hirini, of the local club, had won four championship events during the past year. The balance-sheet disclosed a credit balance of £2 15s sd. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron: J. Linklater Esq., M.P., President: Mr. H. Hutchins; vicepresidents: Messrs M. E. Perreau, J. K. Hornblow, J. Walls, C. Pritchard, .T. McKenna, W. Nicholas, D. Christie, A. Stevenson, E. Parkin, • and J. Desmond; committee: Messrs A. Walls, R. Hornblow, G. Perreau, D. Ball, |. Conq T. Fuller; ladies committee: Mrs. J. McKenna, and Misses R. Perreau, Walsh, and Gower; secretary and treasurer: Mr. D. R. Barron; club captain: W. Harrison. 1 The subscription was iixed as follows: —Men (senior) 5/-, juniors 2/6, ladies 2/'6 x honorary members 2/G. Club badges: free to seniors, juniors and ladies 6d each.

The following donated trophies’: —C. M. Ross Co., trophy value £1 1/-, points prize for ladies; Mr. J. K. Hornblow, trophy value £1 1/-, points prize for junior swimmers; Mr. R. Desjardines, three silver ferns for relay racing. The club has also a fine silver cup to be competed for by the seniors, donated by Messrs Barr and Tyer. A recommendation was made to the incoming committee to go into the question of purchase of a polo ball. Miss Gower offered her services as' first aid instructor for the ladies for which she was accorded a vote of thanks. ' Donors of trophies and the retiring secretary (Mr. B. Moore), were accorded votes of thanks and a similar compliment to the chair concluded the, meeting.
