PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

A social afternoon and sale of gifts was held, under the auspices of the Foxton P.W.M.U., in the Town Hall supper-room on Tuesday afternoon. There was a re- > presentative attendance. The following ladies had charge of the stalls: —Produce, Mesdames Barr, Woodham and Satherley; cakes and sweets, Mrs. S. Easton, Misses J. Ross and Speirs. Afternoon tea' was dispensed by Airs. John Ross, and assistants, while Mrs. A. Stevenson officiated as treasurer. Two interesting competitions were won % by Mesdames Trueman and Pearson.
