BOWLING.
Yesterday afternoon the first match .of the season for the Nye Ferns was played between teams skipped by Mattar and Bryant. An interesting game resulted in Bryant’s rink winning by a margin of 9 points. The rinks were as follows : Thomson, Parkes, Barr, Bryant (s) 22; Easton, Walton, Woods, Mattar 13. Despite the.recent heavy rains,the green played comparatively well yesterday, and gives promise of good results this season. The new mower has contributed a lot to this result, and with sufficient rolling and a spell of good weather the green should play really well. dominations are now wanted for the Wilford Cup pairs competition. Entrance is free. The pail’s will be drawn and conditions set out by the Committee at an early date.
