CROQUET NOTES.
At a general meeting of the Foxton Croquet Club, held on, the 21st inst., the following new members were elected:—Mrs. R, Easton, Mrs Sutton, ill's Fairey, Mrs Stevenson, Mrs Lee, Mi's Staff. Mrs Percy Easton was elected an honorary member. It was decided to reserve Thursday afternoons for the instruction of new players, and for this purpose two “A” players will be) in attendance. Yesterday afternoon a half-hour tournament was commenced, the players displaying great enthusiasm. Following are the scores for the afternoon:— Mrs Pearson: “Breaks” 2, “cut-offs” 3; Mrs Parkes, 2,2; Mrs Moore: 5,8; Mrs. Barr: 4,2; Mrs. Bryant: 2,2; Miss Speirs: 2,3; Mrs. Sutton: 2,1; Mrs Stevenson: 2,1; Mrs. Huntly: 2,2. The season promises to be a very successful one.
