DRUNKEN MOTORIST.
CYCLIST KNOCKED DOWN. Blenheim, October 26. As a sequel to an accident on Maxwell Road, Blenheim, when a lad, Albert Jenkins, while riding a cycle, was knocked down by a mo-tor-car driven by Claude Arthur Dalmain, the latter appeared before Mr.. Maunsell, S.M., to answer a charge of being drunk in charge of a ear. Defendant was a travelling showman, and had ,a side show at the Marlborough Show. Jenkins was badly injured in the knee and was taken to the hospital. The Magistrate said he had to consider the general public. Defendant, was admittedly addicted to drink, and therefore a menace to public safety, so long as he drove a car. Defendant was fined £ls and costs, and his license was suspended for three months.
