BRILLIANT SCREEN COMEDY OF JEWISH-IRISH LIFE.

. “Frisco Sally Levy,”- Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s new picture, featuring the vivacious Sally O’Neil, which comes to the Town Hall on Friday, is a brilliant comedy romance of family life in a big city. Its scenes are laid in San Francisco. “Sally” is the storm-centre of a Jewish-Irish family—-her father being Jewish and her mother Irish. Two suitors appear for “Sally’s” hand, one a wealthy Jewish broker and the other an Irish traffic policeman. After thrilling intrigue, comedy, pathos and romance, the family solves its problem. Directed by William Beaudine, and portrayed by an unusually brilliant east, including Charles Delaney, Roy D’Arcy, Kate Price and Tenen Holtz, “Frisco Sally Levy” is a delightfully entertaining picture. Also comedy and News. Usual prices. The new Gainsborough feature entitled “Blighty,” a Master picture, will be screened on Saturday night. It is unique in many respects, not the least important of which will be the fact that it is a war picture without battle, a story of war and its effect on an ordinary English famly. Ellaline Terris and Lilian Hall Davis are the leading players in this all-British production to be screened at usual prices.

A PULLER ATTRACTION AT THE TOWN HALL.

Sir Benjamin Fuller, director of the well-known entrepreneurs, is keenly interested in establishing a continuity of provincial tours and, as far as possible, bringing to the people living in the smaller towns all the latest and best in musical comedies, vaudeville and other classes of entertainment, which is at present, with the exception of rare occasions, only the privilege of those living in the cities and larger towns. As a first step in the right direction, and, it is hoped, the forerunner of countless others, the George Wallace Revue Company play at the Town Hall, Foxton, for one night only, Tuesday, 25th inst., with one of their brightest productions, “Off Honolulu.” The George Wallace Revue Company, consisting of 20 talented artists and a particularly smart ballet, will be staged with complete wardrobe, scenic and lighting effects, just as in the Fuller theatres. Heading the company is George Wallace himself, and in presenting Mr Wallace and his clever company, Sir Benjamin and Mr John Fuller are giving the provincial towns an opportunity of seeing Australasia’s greatest eomediam and most successful company on the Fuller circuit. Following the Fuller policy of keeping the prices of admission as low as,possible, the provincial tour will he conducted throughout at popular prices.
