Mr. and Mrs. Garbett, of Wellington, have taken up their residence in Foxton; Mr. Garbett lias taken over Mr. Bauckha'm’s grocery business. Mr L. W. Hamlon, advance manager, was in town to-day arranging for the appearance of the Fuller George Wallace Revue Coy., who play in the Town Hall here on Tuesday next, October 25th. After lingering for 12 months with a fractured spine, Mr. Roland iiooten, aged 24, engineer, of Putal'uru, Hamilton, died in a hospital on Tuesday. A pathetic feature is that he sustained the injury in a car accident when on his honeymoon. Equally, sad circumstances are attached to the death of Mr. Sutherland Shaw, an elderly resident of Tc Atutu, in the Waikato Hospital on the same date. Last week he was proceeding with a party to Hamilton for the wedding of his daughter, when the car burst into flames and lie was seriously injured. He subsequently succumbed to shock and burns.
