Men are not accepted as drivers by the London General Omnibus Company until they are 26 years of age, although they, may become conductors two years earlier.
Written in indelible pencil:—“We won the war and saved the British Islands from defeat and extinction. Now, I guess, you buy our oil. Z. Hoppeltlieim.” Above this inscription was an address in California. “I suggest that the League should expend three and sixpence, or thereabouts, on a small volume called ‘The Square Deal,’ by Owen Wister, and send it to the writer of this message,” said the chairman, Mr G. M. Hall. The members of the executive smiled broadly at the incident. “We should not take it too seriously,” said one. “No, Ido not think we are,” rejoined another.
