FOXTON FOOTBALL CLUB.
A wind-up committee meeting of the Foxton Football 'Club was held in Walls’ Rooms last evening, presided over by the President (Mr. H. Hutchins). Also present were Messrs Rand, Neville, Currie, Fuller, Tuna, and the secretary (Mr. R. Hornblow). Mesdames Broad, Langdon, Harper, and Tuna, were also -in attendance. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs Walls and D. Christie. The balance-sheet in connection with the ball disclosing a credit balance was read and adopted.
The President said the ball had been a success both socially and financially and in this connection great credit was due to the ladies’ committee. As a result of the work of the ladies during the past season the Club was in a better financial position that it ever had been before. The President then moved a vote of thanks to the ladies', which was carried by acclamation.
A letter was received from H. Jacob thanking the Club for its letter of sympathy in his illness. —Received.
The United Sports Association wrote thanking the Club for its “sporting spirit” in foregoing the Masonic Hall on Labour night, in favour of the Association. —Received.
A motion of sympathy was passed to Mr. D. R. Barron in his recent bereavement.
Accounts amounting to £5 16s Od were passed for payment. At the conclusion of the business, the President, in thanking the comeittee for the help given him during the year, said that it had been a pleasure to work with them. If he was in office again next year, his only desire would be to have a similar committee to work with. A vote of thanks to the 4hair concluded the meeting.
