FOXTON DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL.
SPECIAL SCHOOL CONCERT,
TO-NIGHT.
The attention of parents and the general public is drawn to the special concert to be given in the Town Hall to-night by the pupils of the primary department of the above school.
Special interest centres round this entertainment in that it is the result of the work of Mi’ J. Holmes 'Runnicles, who for the past four months has been acting in the capacity of expert instructor in singing at the.'school, having been specially engaged by the Committee for this purpose. The programme to be presented is divided into four distinct sections as follows: —Infant classes, Standards I and 11., Standards 111. and IV., Standards V. and VI. Each section will -render eight items, and will be interspersed by community singing, led bv Mr Runnicles.
It is stated that during the short time Mr Runnicles has been, in charge of the school singing a marked improvement in tone and quality has been made, and par- . eats will this .evening have an excellent opportunity of seeing for Themselves just exactly what is being done locally to foster this important art among our children. It is anticipated that as is usual with children’s concerts, the capacity of the Town Hall will be taxed to the utmost, and we can assure the public that a most enjoyable evening is in store for all who attend.
The concert will begin at 8 o’clock sharp, the prices for admission being Is and Is 6d.
