AUGUST WORKING.

The amount of gas manufactured during the month of August was 384,400 feet, which with the amount in the holder on August Ist 14,000 feet, made a total of 398,400 feet. During the month 328,200 feet were used by consumers, 20,000 feet at the works and there was 15,100 feet in the holder on September Ist, making a total of 363,300 feet accounted for and leaving 35,100 feet representing 8.8 per cent, unaccounted for. Thirtylive tons of coal were carbonised, yielding 10,982 c.feet of gas to the ton and producing 9 tons of coke. The receipts for the month totalled £217 Os 9d and was made up as follows: —Gas sales (lighting) £35 5s sd, heat and power £127 Is 4d, coke sales £l9 9s 2d, tar sales £24 11s Od, weighing 5/6, fittings £7 6s Od, miscellaneous £3 2s 4d. The expenditure for the month tailed £217 0s 9d and were made up up as follows: —Coal £9B 5s lOd, .salaries and wages £sl Is 6d, meters £9 8s 9d, services and fittings £lO 13s Id, repairs plant £6 11s Id, repairs engine £1 11s 3d, tools £3 10s Od, working expenses £1 0s 3d, callage and freight £1 9s Id, Power Board £2 10s Od, Interest and Sinking Fund £63 7s 3d.
