FOXTON FOOTBALL CLUB.

ANNUAL BALL.

The Foxton Football Club’s annual ball will be held in the Town Hall on Thurslay evening next, and •promises to be an unqualified success. People from all parts of the district have signified their intention of being present and at least one car-load from as far distant as AYoodvillc intend being present. The committee intend to leave no stone unturned to make the ball a success. Larkin’s full jazz orchestra will be in attendance and the catering arrangements are being well looked to by the ladies. The subscription is as follows: Double ticket, 7/6;’ladies, 3/-; gents, 5/-.

A committee meeting of the Foxton Football Club was held last evening, presided over by the President (Air. H. Hutchins).

It was decided to forward Mes- . srs Royal and Jacob, both inmates of the Palmerston North Hospital, letter of sympathy in their illness. A deputation from the Foxton United Sports Association was present consisting of Messrs D. Christie, E. Parkin, and P. J. Jack, which explained to the meeting that that body had a minute on its books some months old, requesting the secretary to book the Alasonic, Hall .for sports night (October 24th), but this the secretary had failed to do with the result that the Football Club had booked the hall up. Alembevs were unanimously of the opinion that the Club should forego the booking of the hall, under the circumstances, in favour of the United Sports Association. Mr. J. K. Hornblow explained that after last meeting, when it was decided that no delegates attend the Horowhenua Council meeting to again explain the Club’s reasons for a change in boundaries, they had considered it necessary to attend that meeting and had gone over to Levin. —Action endorsed. Details in connection with the ball were discussed and it was decided to book the Alasonie Hall for each Saturday night next year during the duration of the military camps in Foxton.
