RAGLAN BY-ELECTION.
TO-DAY’S POLL. The by-election for the Raglan .seat, rendered vacant by the death of the Hon. R. F. Bollard, takes place to-day and it is anticipated that the voting will reach the total of general election figures. The party leaders have stumped the electorate in support of their respective candidates. The general opinion is that the , Reform candidate will be returned with a comfortable majority, with Labour next. The following are the candidates: — A. H. Waring (Reform). W. Lee Martin (Labour). T. Parker (Liberal). W. J. Taylor (Independent Reform). C. A. Magner (Country Party). The results of the two previous elections for the Raglan seat were . as follows: — 1922. —R. F. Bollard (Reform) 3494; S. C. G. Lye (Liberal)* 2718; E. Piggott 1925. —R. F. Bollard (Reform), 4470; E. Piggott (Labour), 1614; S. C. G. Lye (Nationalist), 965; R. D. Duxfield (Country Party), 222.
