FOXTON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
/ A committee meeting ofl the Foxton Horticultural Society was held on Thursday evening, presided over by the President (Mr. D. Christie). Also present were Messrs T. Hughes, E. J. Murphy, J. Ross, the Revs. Peryman and Walton, Mr W. H. Nicholas (see.), Mesdames S. Procter, R. Moore, R. McMurray, Misses Speirs and Gower. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Ogilvy, Heasman, P. Easton, Murphy and Mr. W. Nye. Motions of sympathy were passed to Mrs. A. S. Easton, Mr. R. McMurray, and Mr. B. G. Gower in their recent bereavement. Accounts amounting to £sl 15 were passed for payment, £l4 13s 6d being prize money.' The President stated that the new properties were very satisfactory and had greatly facilitated matters in connection with the recent show which had been a decided success. A vote of thanks was accorded Mi-. James Ross for his work in connection with the preparation of . the tables etc. for the show. The President’s action in insuring the Society’s properties was endorsedl.
