AWAHOU RIDING.

The Manawatu County Engineer (Mr G. Hickford) reported as follows on roads and highways in the Awahou Riding, at yesterday’s meeting of the Manawatu County Council:—

“A fair quantity of crushed metal is being delivered along the Fo’xtonShannon road, and it will be necessary to continue this work for some time, as the traffic has cut out the road very much from the flaxmills to the drying paddocks, being a distance of several miles. Work on No. G Line had been stopped until arrangements can he made to expedite the work in the future. “Foxton-Himatangi Main Highway. —Mr J. Coley is making good progress with the banking and widening along this highway, arrangements having been made for the widening of two short lengths near Himatangi. Later on the work of blinding the loose sand will be proceeded with.”
