FATHER SUES SON.
JUDGE ACTS AS MEDIATOR
Ilamilton, September 17.
A Supreme Court action caused by a family quarrel was not allowed to go far by Mr. Justice Herdman. John Riggir, farmer, Putaruru,
sought to recover from his son, Alfred Allan Riggir, farmer, Putaru-
i'll, the sum of £917 which was alleged to have been lent by the father to his son. The defence was that the moneys advanced were to be deducted from the son’s share of his father’s estate when the latter died. After brief evidence had been heard, the judge called the parties and counsel together and as the result of his mediation, father and son agreed to a settlement.
