PERSONAL.
The Rev. S. H. Peryman is confined to his home with a slight indisposition. Mr R. Edwards, of Palmerston North, w 7 as a visitor to Foxton today. Both the headmaster (Mr F. Mason) and first assistant (Mr Warwick) of the Foxton District High School, have been on the sick list during the term holidays. The former, who is making good progress after an operation for appendicitis, will not be able to resume duty for two or three weeks. In connection with the very sue-A eessful bazaar held at RedcliffsfP (Christchurch) recently, to assist the district dental clinic and the school grounds improvement scheme, winners in the baby show, judged by Dr. T. F. Telford were as follow: Babies 12 months and under Mrs J. Senior 1, Mrs. G. Teague 2. Mrs. J. Senior (nee Skellen) is an ex-Foxton resident, and both parents are well-known locally. * Miss Janet N. MeGhie, of Dunedin, has been appointed Matron of the Palmerston North Hospital. Sister MeGhie qualified in 1910 and afterwards became sister at a private hospital in Dunedin. Later she became matron until 1916 when she left New Zealand with the Army Nursing Service. On her return to New Zealand she was appointed to positions under the military in the Cambridge Sanatorium, Christchurch Orthopaedic Hospital and Dunedin Jaw Hospital. For the last 2£ years she has been at King George V. Hospital (Rotorua), as tutor sister and sister in charge of the theatre and plaster departments. Her application was supported by exceedingly high references.
