The three games which Manawhenua contested at Palmerston North with the Ranfurly Shield at stake drew large attendances. The gate at the Taranaki match was £SBO, at the Wanganui match £565, find at Wednesday’s match £BS0 —a total of almost £2OOO. The profit to the Manawhenua Union means that it will be able to carry out a Southern tour next year without embarrassment. MANAWHENUA REPS. TO MEET OTAGO. The Manawhenua Rugby team to play Otago at Levin on Wednesday next will be selected from the following : Backs. —Williamson, McDonald, Hunt, Brophy, • Roberts, Akuira, Mete, Mullins, W. Parata. Forwards. —Anderson, Tremewan, Parsons, Galpin, Miles, Crawford, Payne, Dalzell, Heafcley, Jacob. The above players will assemble at the Levin Hotel at midday on Monday, and the team will be finally picked in the afternoon.
