EGYPTIAN MUMMY.

DISCOVERY IN DESERT, JEWELS 3000 YEARS OLD. The Cairo papers recently reported an. important discovery made in 'the western desert, where a mummy, presumably of an Egyptian queen, had been found. The mummy! is covered with jewels, including 18 gold and silver bracelets, five necklets in brilliants, and a crown of brilliants. Near the mummy, it is stated, were found other necklets in sapphires and brilliants, as well as a statuette carved in porphyry. The hieroglyphics indicate that the remains are 3000 years old, but it is not known to what dynasty the queen belonged.
