COMPENSATION FOR INJURIES.
£IOOO DAMAGES AWARDED.
Dunedlin, Last Night. Mr. Justice Sim this morning delivered his judgment in the case of John Hector Williamson v. The Union Steamship Company of New Zealand Ltd., in which the plaintiff claimed damages for injuries received while loading iron plates on the Corinna on June 22, 1925. His Honour awarded complainant £IOOO damages saying the plaintiff had been paid £236 12s as compensation and credit must be given for that amount. The judgment would accordingly be for £765 8s with costs according to scale and disbursements and witnesses’ expenses to be fixed by the registrar and in allowance of £lO 10s for the one extra day of the trial.
