The Rev. JP. J. Mail’s, who is visiting Foxton, will conduct the evening service in the Methodist Church to-morrow.
In the Salvation Army Hall tomorrow evening, at 7 o’clock, a special officer from Wellington will conduct a memorial service to the late Treasurer Brown, who had for a good many years;been a faithful soldier and local officer of the Salvation Army. All are invited to attend this special service.

Something quite unique in evan gelism as far as Palmerston North is concerned, is 'being attempted by the local churches during the next ten days. This is a series of continuous meetings to be held—at one and the same time, in most of the leading churches. The denominations taking part are Anglican, Presbyterian, Methodist and Congregational. The preachers, who are to (conduct the special Services, are all leading men in their own denominations and have been carefully selected because @f their experience, wisdom and general attractiveness as speakers.
Mr and Mrs. D. Barron entertained at their home on Thursday evening, a large number of Miss Isie Patterson’s friends, in honour of her coming of age. Bright fires and artistic decorations struck a most cheerful note as one entered the house, and very soon, music, competitions and dancing were keenly entered into by the young folk. Miss Patterson was the recipient of many beautiful gifts and birthday greetings. The supper table decoration (mauve and yellow), were greatly admired. Mr. John Ross, in a happy speech pro posed the health of the guest and Mr. D. Christie responded for Miss Patterson and thanked Mr. and, Mrs. Barron for their kindness, which was acclaimed with musical honours.
