FLAX WOOL-PACKS.

AN INDUSTRY FOR SHANNON. In respect to the published report from Dunedin that negotiations are going forward there with the object of establishing a mill at Dunedin to manufacture flax wool packs by a special loose fibre eliminating process, we are reliably informed (says the Levin Chronicle), that a syndicate in Shannon have gone further than this. For some time past they have been going fully into this matter with the object of establishing a mill in Shannon and are now awaiting tenders for the necessary machinery from the Old Country. It is expected to complete the floating of the company by the end of the year, when a start will he made with the erection of the necessary buildings. From the > experiments that the syndicate have made they are quite satisfied that the manufacture of flax wool packs is now past the experimental stage.
