DANGER FROM WANDERING STOCK.
MOTORISTS WANT LEGISLATION. Napier, Last Night. Reference to the grave danger to motorists and the serious menace to human life constituted by wandering stock was made at the meeting of the North Island Motor Union to-day. In view of the fact that the Impounding Act was passed in 1908, since when there have been very few amendments thereto taking into consideration the growth of the motor traffic, the Union decided
to apprapeh the proper authorities with a view to having the Act amended in the following direction (a) Rangers to receive a regular salary and not be solely dependent upon pound fees. (b) That pound fees be increased all over New 7 Zealand. (c) That penalties under the Act he made heavier and the powers of rangers increased. (d) That local bodies be not permitted to lease the grazing rights for main highways. (e) That the law prohibiting night grazing be enforced.
