AEROPLANE FLIGHT TO AUCKLAND.

Christchurch, August 26.

On a flight to Auckland tO-mor-row, Captain J. L. Findlay, M.C., will fly the new D.H. 50 machine. He will be accompanied by Sergeant ■Simpson. Stops will be made at Blenheim and Hawera for re-fuel-ling. The ’plane is the most modern in New Zealand, being of the same type as that used in. Sir Alan Cobham’s flight from England to Australia. It is expected the actual flying time will be about six hours. A start will be made at 6.30 a.m., and Auckland should be reached between 2 and 3 in the afternoon. The landing at Auckland will be either at Mangere or at Cornwall Park. The ’plane would keep to the coast line and would not be seen locally.
