SOCCER.
The regular fortnightly meeting of the Manawatu Football Association was held in Palmerston North on Thursday evening. A letter was received from the St. Amdrew’s Football Club protesting against the decision of the Management Committee in ordering that the match between their club and the Foxton club he replayed and pointing out the direct result of the decision was to penalise the St. Andrew’s club while the Foxton club had nothing to lose by a replay but were merely being given another chance to better their vposition. The St. Andrew’s club therefore asked that the Association give the matter its further consideration. It was resolved that the matter would not be reopened. Mr. H. Crouch, referee, reported a St. Andrew’s player, F. Davies, for swearing and using threatening language to an opposing player. As the players were leaving the ground at the conclusion of the game, Davies had approached the referee and used offensive .language. As the game had ceased Mr. Crouch stated that he could not order Davies off but he felt that he could not pass over the remai’ks complained of. It was resolved that a special meeting be called and that both the referee and Davies be asked to attend in order to hear both sides of the matter.
Fixtures in the senior corpetition for Saturday, are as follows: St. Andrews v. Flock House, at Flock House; Athletic v. Foxton, at Foxton.
